I’ve recently been inspired to talk about these bodies of ours… these beautiful, sacred, wise and sexy bodies of ours! So in the coming days and weeks, I’d like to share some of my thoughts. This feature could come in two, three, or three hundred installments! I don’t know, I’d just like to see where this dialogue takes us. I don’t pretend to be an expert on the subject, just a woman sharing her experience, and my hope is that you’re inspired to share yours with me.
So I recently posted a video in which I shared some of my favorite reworked vintage pieces (if you missed it check it out here), and I was so excited by your responses! I love hearing that other people share a passion for vintage clothing. One reader, who commented as “Sing,” even submitted a picture of her reworked pieces, and they’re just gorgeous. I mean look at her! Lady, I may not know your name, but I love your picture! Anyways, this reader’s creativity inspired me to pose a challenge to you all: SHOW ME YOUR REWORKED VINTAGE! Leave pictures of your favorite vintage pieces in the comment section (you just might get a shout out in my next video)!
I buy a lot of vintage because, well, it’s AMAZING! And truthfully you can get great stuff for not a lot of money. I have a passion for vintage clothing because of the quality and uniqueness of the pieces (you don’t really have to worry about showing up in the same outfit as someone else). To update some of my vintage finds or sometimes just to make them fit, I have the help of a fabulous seamstress and dressmaker, Daniela Kurrle. She really is stupendous and our collaborations have resulted in some of my favorite dresses in my closet. I wish I could sew like she can or like some of my other vintage loving friends can but alas I need help. So I thought it’d be fun to share some of the pieces she’s worked her magic on.
As you may remember, I’m participating in the American Heart Association’s campaign to promote heart health. So each week I’m giving simple tips that’ll help you stay healthy! These little tips that can go a long way, and this one was inspired by my dog, the beautiful Lady Bug. She is a wonderful companion and we take great care of each other even though sometimes she can be a handful (I guess she would say the same of me if she could talk). Of course I was blessed with a dog that has a lot of “self-esteem.” We often have to duke it out as I remind her who is the Alpha. This can occasionally make walks an interesting endeavor cause there are times when our walks turn into “carries” when she decides she wants to hang and watch birds fly by instead of actually walking, but no matter what we walk.
Okay, so I wanted to yap about how excited I was about the Grammys, Downton Abby, and my new & fab Joyus bracelets but really this video just ended up being all about my new, amazing blow out!!! Y’all know I love a good blow out and this one was just too good not to share! In the end, this video really just became exclusively about the hair but I’m okay with that hahaha!
