I love all of your wonderful, thoughtful questions. Thank you for taking the time to post them. In this segment, I share about motivation and what I like to call the “May I’s”.
Mind, Body, & Spirit
This week’s heart healthy tip is so simple: to keep your heart healthy, pick up the phone and get yourself moving!  I know, I know, when do you have time when you can barely make time to wash your hair or get enough sleep, but I swear it’s easier than you think (for example, I’m writing this tip on my phone, from the treadmill at the gym hahaha). MULTI-TASK people! This tip is fun and a little silly, but it’ll help you out in the long run.
Skip the elevator so you can return a call and take the stairs instead.   Another way to get active while on the phone is to do squats while gabbing.  Or hey, while you’re walking down the hall at work and talking with a colleague, throw in a couple of lunges.  Sure people might wonder about you, but it’s for your heart! and it will help your butt too!!!
As you may remember, I’m participating in the American Heart Association’s campaign to promote heart health. So each week I’m giving simple tips that’ll help you stay healthy!  These little tips that can go a long way, and this one was inspired by my dog, the beautiful Lady Bug.  She is a wonderful companion and we take great care of each other even though sometimes she can be a handful (I guess she would say the same of me if she could talk). Of course I was blessed with a dog that has a lot of “self-esteem.† We often have to duke it out as I remind her who is the Alpha. This can occasionally make walks an interesting endeavor cause there are times when our walks turn into “carries†when she decides she wants to hang and watch birds fly by instead of actually walking, but no matter what we walk.Â
