#LEGENDARYSTYLE IN #ATL

I recently visited Hotlanta to chat about hair (u know i love me some hair talk!) at the Optimum Legendary Style Soiree with Johnny Wright, who is officially one of my new FAV humans. I decided to ask some of the ladies in attendance about their hair and what #legendarystyle means to them, and got some great responses!  Thank you Optimum Salon Hair Care, and all the gorgeous ladies of the ATL who shared their #hairlove with me!

As many of you know, I have co-hosted (along with Regina King) the televised award show Black Girls Rock for the last 3 years. But did you also know that the Award show is only one aspect of the organization? Black Girls Rock is a non-profit organization founded by the fabulous Beverly Bond that aims to encourage leadership and empowerment in young black women worldwide. As part the initiative, Beverly has created a summer retreat called the BGR Queens Camp where girls at the top of their class from all over the world are flown to New York to engage in leadership development, civic engagement, and entrepreneurial workshops at Columbia University.  It has proven to be an incredible and life changing 2 weeks for these girls!  Well, this is the 4th year for Queens Camp, and I’m calling on the BGR village to help us raise the money necessary to make this year’s camp affordable for all the girls who have been accepted!

That’s where I (and you) come in!

There are a few ways we can help make this camp a reality for these deserving and beautiful girls: you can buy a Black Girls Rock! shirt or hoodie like the one I’m wearing in the picture above,  or you can donate directly to their Indie Gogo campaign for the Queens Camp. Even something as small as $5 helps to send these girls through a camp that can change their destiny.  You can help make a big change with small change!  Let’s show our support to this incredible program, and show the world that BLACK GIRLS ROCK!

#WhatIWore: Lipstick Edition

So, even though we got some awesome suggestions from my reusable water bottles video, a lot of you were wondering about (in addition to the dangers of plastic and protecting the environment, of course) what lip color I was wearing!  It’s actually three different products, and I demonstrate how to create the lip look in this video. Links to get the products are below!

REUSABLE WATER BOTTLES: YOUR RESPONSES

Thanks so much for all of your wonderful responses to my reusable Water Bottles video! You gave some great suggestions (and awesome info), so here’s a few of my faves! Links are below after the jump, so try ‘em out and tell me what you think!
